Artificial Intelligence and Smart Robotic Intelligent Automation in Africa

Harnessing Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Process Automation to achieve Intelligent Automation in Africa

Intelligent Automation (IA) is changing society as profoundly as the steam engine and electricity had done, but unlike past technological revolutions, the IA revolution offers a unique chance to improve lives without opening up and exacerbating global inequalities. This will require widening of the locations where IA is done.

The vast majority of experts in this field are in North America, Europe and Asia. Africa, in particular, is barely represented. Such lack of diversity can entrench the unintended algorithmic biases and build discrimination into IA products.

And that’s not the only gap: fewer African IA researchers and engineers have opportunities to use AI to improve the lives of Africans.

The research community is also missing out on talented individuals.

African nations must forge ties with their local IA expertise as well as holding hands with international professionals.

The old ways of managing and supporting business processes are undergoing a paradigm shift.

The old edifice of back-office support system is being dismantled to make way for the new conception, made possible by the advent of intelligent automation, disruptive technologies and artificial intelligence, which together promise to bring in speed, ease and significant cost optimisation.

Now is the time to build a foundation that ensures that IA helps bring better lives in Africa and beyond.

With foresight and planning, the technological revolution that artificial intelligence and automation brings will be a force to empower a fair and prosperous society in Africa.

This oft-overlooked continent has much to give and to get from Intelligent Automation.

Clearly, intelligent automation is the journey to the future — from back-office rooms to business technology and engagement centers. Organizations all over the world are indeed gearing up to be future ready, and African cannot be left out!

MJDvent International’s Intelligent Automation Africa 2020 on the 17th – 18th of June in 2020 in Johannesburg, South Africa is committed to creating public-private partnerships with socially impactful endeavours, which is of course, core to our company mission.

The conference aims at developing a coordinated plan and platform to encourage IA education across the African continent. Incentivise entrepreneurship in the IA sector. And facilitate collaboration between intelligent automation and artificial intelligence researchers, and experts in the health care, aerospace, defense, automotive, energy, agriculture and other sectors.

The Intelligent Automation Africa Forum promises to provide a pan-African strategy: a set of ambitious goals for IA and AI education, research and development and industrialization.

Get actively engaged in the discussion and create meaningful cooperation with the best international professionals in Africa and beyond!
